Real estate and property law

Does an easement exist? Did the estate agent act correctly? What options do I have as a landlord to act against deliberate destruction by the tenant?

Belgians have a strong urge to build. We like to build and renovate. But the legal framework of real estate transactions is becoming increasingly complex.

The legal structuring of real estate projects today still follows the guidelines set out in 1804 by the Napoleonic legislator in the Civil Code, supplemented by special laws. Meanwhile, the legal framework of real estate transactions is becoming increasingly complex: deeds and contracts are becoming longer and more complex, energy standards are becoming stricter, obligations are increasing.

Advice and assistance with drawing up contracts, negotiations and, if necessary, proceedings are absolutely essential, both for the real estate professional – developer, trustee, estate agent, etc. – as well as for the private individual – buyer, seller, landlord, tenant, co-owner, etc.

  • Does an easement exist?
  • Is there a hidden defect?
  • When did a sale actually take place?
  • Is the distribution of the 10,000 fair?
  • Did the estate agent act correctly?
  • What options do I have as a landlord for action against tenants?

These and many other questions form part of the real estate legal domain. Adlex advocaten & bemiddelaars has extensive expertise in dealing with property issues and disputes. Due to the complexity of the subject matter and the interaction with other legal domains, it is a great advantage that our real estate experts and lawyers are part of a close-knit multidisciplinary team and a law firm that covers the entire spectrum.

Adlex advocaten & bemiddelaars is recognized as a training provider by the professional institute of real estate agents.
