Kristof Panis

Kristof Panis (°1980, Genk) took his oath as a Lawyer at the Brussels Court of Appeal in 2006, after which he became a member of the Brussels Bar. He has worked mainly for international players such as IBM, Accenture, Philips, SABIC, BASF and UCB. During 20 years he specialized in Corporate Law in general, Contract Law in particular (mainly in English), Computer Law, Intellectual Property Rights and Privacy and Data Protection Law.

Since March 2025, he has been back with Adlex Attorneys & Mediators as Counsel and as Data Protection Officer.

In 2006, he graduated as Master of Law at the Free University of Brussels (VUB), with a specialization in Social and Corporate Law. During his first internship, he also obtained in 2008 the bilingual (NL-FR) academic degree of Master in Intellectual Property Law and Competition Law at the Catholic University of Brussels/Leuven, cum laude.

Then in 2010, after completing his internship years and after inclusion on the Tableau of Lawyers, he moved to London and obtained the academic degree of LL.M. in Telecommunications and Computer Law (thesis cum laude) from Queen Mary University of London School of Law (London, U.K.). He is currently studying another LL.M. in U.S. Law after hours at GMU Antonin Scalia Law School in Arlington, Virginia, USA.

Kristof is trilingual (NL-FR-ENG) with a good knowledge of German.

In his spare time, Kristof keeps busy with vintage cars (preferably V8 engines), his German shepherds and his garden. He is a member of the Belgian Mustang and Mercury Cougar Club and other classic car clubs.
