Gerry Banken

Gerry Banken (1984, Genk) has been a partner at Adlex advocaten & bemiddelaars since 2010. He completed his master’s degree in law at the KULeuven in 2007. In 2007, he became a member of the Limburg Bar. During his studies, he immersed himself in commercial and company law. This interest led him to attain a post-master’s degree in company law at the HUB in 2010. In 2014, he was appointed trustee by the Commercial Court of Antwerp, Tongeren Division.

Within Adlex advocaten & bemiddelaars, Gerry Banken guides and advises companies in all facets of commercial life, ranging from incorporation, acquisitions and mergers of companies to directors’ liability and guidance of companies in difficulty, placed under the Continuity of Enterprises Act or other form of recovery. In addition, he handles numerous bankruptcies as trustee, in connection with which he also holds various judicial mandates.

Gerry Banken is also active in the field of education. For example, from 2010 to 2016, he was a teaching associate at the Institute for the Laws of Obligation of the KU Leuven with an assignment at Hasselt University teaching private law and liability law courses. Since 2013, he has been a law lecturer at Syntra PXL, where he teaches a number of legal subjects as part of the study program for real estate agents and accountants in Genk, Hasselt and Westerlo.
